Basketball Facility.

The two Basketball areas are finally up and running and are proving immensely popular with youngsters throughout the Village and Augustus Gardens.  The areas provide all weather sites suitable for all ages to play and practice their skills.  Some individuals have expressed disappointment that the facilities are not larger or double ended to permit games, but full size areas are available in the Sports Hall for organised games.

This project could not have come into being without the excellent help received from various groups, firms and individuals.  In particular the Parish Council would like to thank;

1. The Residents group who donated nearly £2400 towards the project;
2. 'Awards for All' lottery funding for a grant of £2000;
3. Roadstone Recycling (formerly Bruce Cook), for the supply of Hardcore and Surfacing at a very favourable reduction in price;
4. Chas Long & Son, for the supply of aggregate at no cost;
5. Howard Jolly of Jolly Kitchens, for the supply of edging stones at a fraction of commercial rates.

Special thanks must also go to Cllr Peter Wild and Cllr Brian Woodley, the lead Councillors for the project, both of whom worked tirelessly and suffered the various delays and frustrations of bringing the project into being.  Thanks also go to the Village Society for their help, patience and goodwill and to everyone who provided assistance and advice towards this worthwhile

Flood Warning Service

Brompton on Swale plays in the Darlington & District League and is currently in the B Division. Matches are played every Saturday from the end of April to early September with fixtures against many local teams.  The age of playing members currently ranges between 15 and 50 and we play not only to win but also to enjoy ourselves.  We claim success on both fronts and since formation in 1994 have had success in winning the C and D Division Championships and the C Division League Cup.

The cricket pitch is located on the Sports Field off Honeypot Road and we have the benefit of magnificent modern changing facilities offering hot showers after matches which helps ward off post-match stiffness especially in the older members.

If you are interested in joining the Club we will be delighted to meet you.  Please contact one
