Summary of Minutes from Parish Council meeting 18 January 2010

1. Following the recent bad weather and problems with gritting, NYCC reported that they are planning to carry out a review of policies and procedures for winter maintenance in the future.  This may include reinstating some of the grit bins that were removed last year.
2. Discussions concerning the girder bridge across the river are still going on with Sustrans, Yorkshire Water and NYCC.
3. NYCC have made additional money available to Highways with immediate effect to help make a start on repairing some of the new potholes that have appeared in the roads as a result of the recent bad weather.
4. The Parish Council had made a grant application to NYCC Aggregates Fund for help with an interpretation board to be sited at the bottom of River Lane.
5. The planned work parties for volunteers on the riverside had to be postponed due to the ground being frozen but these have been rearranged for Saturday 30 January and Wednesday 3 February.  If anyone is interested in helping out then please do come along.
6. The next meeting of the Parish Council is on Monday 22 February 2010 – all are welcome.
