Transparency Code For Smaller Authorities

The Government has introduced a Transparency Code for local councils and smaller authorities, with a turnover not exceeding £25,000. Brompton-on-Swale Parish Council fits into this category. The Parish Councillors will publish annually, no later than 1st July each year, various items of financial information as required by the Code. Each year the Parish Council’s Annual Return needs to be reviewed by an External Auditor appointed by the Audit Commission. The Unaudited Annual Return has been published with this notice. As it has yet to be reviewed by the appointed auditor, it is subject to change as a result of that review.

Any person interested has the right to inspect and make copies of the accounting records for the year to which the audit relates.For year ending 31 march 2016 these documents will be available on reasonable notice by application to the Parish Clerk from Monday 6 June until Friday 15 July.
